Location & Terrain

Altay Mountain Lodge & Yurts is located in the East Kazakhstan region’s southwestern part of the Altay Mountains.
Our exclusive skitouring area is 25 square kilometers. And this is not just private 25 sq. km, but the best terrain in the region you only can get. Biggest drops, deepest snow, almost countless runs and terrain varieties. No other operation in the country (or even the whole Central Asia region) can match our exclusive terrain’s size, quality and variety.
The lodge is quite accessible. Kazakhstan is open to foreign travelers – a visa is not required for most EU countries. Key cities in Kazakhstan have direct flights to major airports in the EU, Middle East and Asia.

ACCOMMODATION & MEALS

We’ve build warm and roomy yurts, large enough to have rooms and offer some privacy even in the conditions of a remote camp deep in the mountains. The camp has electricity and even Internet (although we can turn it off for you if you’re looking to go completely off-grid).
Our spacious Sauna and heated washrooms provides highest possible level of comfort for remote lodge.
Our chef cooks delicious and nourishing traditional Kazakh meals, as well as traditional European and Asian. And we accommodate your preferences.

snow & weather

Similar to Siberia, Kazakhstan part of Altay Mountains experience impressive snowfalls, with 5+ meters of annual snowfall and snow depth up to 3 meters. The season starts already in November, and ends in early April. There is only one type of snow during our season – powder. And always deep enough!

Accommodation and meals

Altay Mountain Lodge is likely one of the most comfortable of what can be achieved at a location deep in the mountains. Brand new spacious yurts with separate rooms for living, the Banya (traditional Sauna), heated washrooms will make your stay comfortable and pleasant.
We do our best to make the food and the skiing a remarkable part of your trip. Our menu is traditional Kazakh and Central Asia dishes with premium local ingredients and modern cuisine—nothing but an first-class gastronomic experience.
